Official tickets are sold on Vivaticket in quarterly releases: September–December 2026 opened on June 23 at noon, and nothing can be booked beyond December 31, 2026 yet. Every Wednesday at noon, extra tickets for the following week go on sale online for single visitors. Full price is €15; each buyer gets one purchase per calendar year, up to 5 tickets.

How the permit works
- 1Watch for the quarterly release: Vivaticket opens three months of dates at once, at noon Italian time.
- 2Be online at the release time — the first slots of each block go quickly.
- 3Pick a 15-minute slot; availability is shown per time slot, not per day.
- 4Pay online and save the confirmation; tickets are nominal and the name cannot be changed.
- 5Arrive 30 minutes before your slot, as the official site asks. Miss it and it is gone.

Insider tips
- Missed the quarterly release? Try the Wednesday noon extras for the following week (single visitors, online only).
- When the official site shows nothing, authorized guided-tour operators often still hold allocated slots at a higher, legitimate price.
- The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday, 8:15 to 19:00; it is closed on Mondays.

Is there any way in without a reservation?
No: booking is mandatory for every ticket category, including children over one year old. The closest thing to last-minute is the Wednesday extra release for the following week.
