PermitTrip does not send alerts. What we do: list every opening date we checked on the official source, give you a calendar file (.ics) so the reminder lives in your own calendar, and show how to turn on the official notice where the agency has one.

You apply during one month for a permit four months later; the draw runs on the 1st of the next month at 9:00 AM MT and the result comes by email. US$6 per application + US$7 per person (or dog) if drawn. 48 of the 64 daily places go through this lottery; the other 16 through a separate daily lottery.
Mar 1, 2027 – Mar 31, 2027 Half Dome: preseason lottery (March 1–31)
The page states the preseason lottery runs “March 1 through March 31 each year”, with results in mid-April (April 11 in 2026). US$10 per application + US$10 per hiker if drawn. 225 of the 275 daily places go to the preseason lottery; the rest, plus unclaimed ones, to a daily lottery two days before each hike (midnight to 4 PM PT).

Entries are made between the 1st and the 25th of the 15th month before the stay month; winners are notified by the end of the following month. Unsold beds and all meals go on general sale on the 1st of each month at 12:01 AM MT online (7:00 AM MT by phone).

Every Wednesday at 12 noon (Italian time) extra tickets for the following week go on sale, online only and for single visitors (up to 5 tickets); the site calls it an experimental test still in progress. Regular bookings open every three months: September–December 2026 opened on June 23 at noon, and the date for January–March 2027 is not published yet. One purchase per calendar year, up to 5 tickets.
On sale from 3 months before the visit; the prices page says online sale for a date closes at 23:59 the day before. Up to 10 tickets per person, card and month.
Each date goes on sale at 20:00 Beijing time, 7 days before. Individual visitors book through the museum’s official “故宫博物院” (Palace Museum) WeChat mini-program; no tickets are sold on the day.
Tickets are sold continuously online on the Ministry of Culture site; we found no single release day there. Pick one of 3 circuits (10 routes) and an entry time.
The official source has not announced the next date. Here is what it published last time, so you know roughly when to look; there is no .ics until the date is official.
The only calendar on the official page is the 2023 one: applications Feb 1 to Mar 1, results Mar 15, confirmation by Apr 21, leftover dates released Apr 22 at 7:00 AM PST.
Half Dome, The Wave, Angels Landing, Mount Whitney and the Enchantments all run through recreation.gov. Apply with your own account and the result goes to that account’s email; The Wave’s page says applicants are notified by email after the 9:00 AM MT draw, and the Angels Landing day-before lottery answers by 4:00 PM MT.
recreation.gov Availability Alerts (the bell icon)
The recreation.gov help center documents it for campgrounds: open the page, set your filters, select the bell, choose the start date and number of nights, then “Save Alert”. The notice goes by email (and push, in the app) to everyone watching the same dates, does not guarantee a booking, and you can keep 3 alerts at a time. The help article covers campgrounds; on a permit page, look for the same bell before counting on it.
No. There is no sign-up and we do not collect emails or phone numbers. This page gives you the dates we checked and a calendar file, so the reminder is set in your own calendar.
How do I use the .ics file?
Download it and open it: Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook import it as events. Each event carries the official link in its description.
What if the official date changes?
Your calendar keeps the date you downloaded. Open the official link in the event a few days before; we update this page when we check the source again.
Why is there no date for my permit?
Because the official source has not published it, or the permit runs on a rolling window. We do not guess dates: the tables above show the rule and what the source published last time.
