This trips up people used to national park pricing, where a day pass and a backcountry permit are separate, modest line items. Havasupai bundles access and camping into one mandatory package, and the total is simply larger because it is buying more nights than a typical park visit requires.
What the fee includes — and what it usually doesn’t
The US$455 covers the campground stay, permits, fees and taxes. It does not include food, camping gear, or transportation to Hualapai Hilltop, and it does not include help carrying your pack: the mule service is booked and paid separately (US$400 round trip in 2026).
