Overview

You need a ticket for a set date and time to walk the Caminito del Rey. On the official platform the general ticket costs €10 and the official guided visit €18. Each purchase is limited to 10 tickets, every ticket has to be personalised with the visitor’s details, and changes or refunds are not allowed.

A day trip from Málaga is a separate booking: transport, the guide and the admission come together, for a fixed date. It is worth checking when the official calendar has nothing left for your date.

Tickets are released in batches: in early October 2026 the platform stated that dates after 2 May would go on sale later. The route is linear, 7.7 km from the northern access in Ardales to the exit at El Chorro, and takes three to four hours with the approach paths. Children under 8 are not admitted. If the general ticket is gone for your date, look at the official guided visit on the same calendar, or at a day trip from Málaga that includes transport, guide and admission.

How far in advance do Caminito del Rey tickets go on sale?

In batches, with no fixed schedule published. In early October 2026 the official platform stated that tickets for dates after 2 May would be on sale at a later date.

Can children walk the Caminito del Rey?

The minimum age is 8, proven with an official document at the entrance. Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I change the date or get a refund?

No. Changes and refunds are not allowed. The exception is a closure for weather or safety reasons, when you can exchange the ticket or ask for a refund in your personal area.

How long is the Caminito del Rey?

The official site gives 7.7 km in total, of which 2.9 km are the stretch between the boardwalks, and estimates three to four hours for the whole route. It is walked one way, from north to south.

What can I do if my date is sold out?

First check the official guided visit, a separate ticket type on the same calendar. Organised day trips with transport and admission are the other option. The official site says agencies have their own ticket area and warns against unauthorised points of sale.
