- 5Arrive at the museum entrance in Viale Vaticano at your slot with ID and the QR code.

- If early slots are gone, the last entries of the afternoon are the next-best trade — quieter than midday, though you’ll be moving briskly.
- The direct passage from the Sistine Chapel to St Peter’s Basilica is generally reserved for guided groups; without one you exit and walk around.
- Wednesday mornings are affected by the papal audience in St Peter’s Square, which shifts crowd patterns in both directions.
