Licensed operators hold their own allocation of tickets. A guided visit is the realistic way in when the official release is gone — and you skip the queue.

The cap is what makes it hard: with 180 places per shift, weekend and mid-morning slots are gone well before walk-in visitors show up, and there is no queue to join at the door. When the official calendar is full, the realistic option is a guided visit sold with its own admission.

  • The first shift of the day is usually the calmest time for the Bernini sculptures on the ground floor.
  • Two hours goes fast: see the sculpture rooms first, then the picture gallery upstairs.
